MUSIC ANYWHERE

Music makes us better. That's what we believe. Live music, played by amazing people, should be available to anyone, anywhere they need it.

Funding News!

Funding News!

Enormous thanks to the players of the People's Postcode Lottery, who have supported us with funding for sessions for groups in Powys.

Plus, Music for All have kindly funded us to support Dementia Matters in Powys with 14 sessions across all their meeting centres. You can read more about the impact and importance of these sessions in our case study.

And with help from Ty Cerdd, we can use National Lottery funding via Arts Council of Wales, to take sessions to young people up and down Powys!

On top of this, we can extend our support to Shropshire through the Cultural Compact, Shropshire Council's arts fund provided by UK Governments Shared Prosperity Fund.

We couldn't be more grateful that we're able to get more music and creativity into our communities, to improve everyone's health and wellbeing. Diolch!

Merry Christmas from Music Anywhere!

Newsletter

Our inaugural newsletter is available to download here.

We've had a very busy start to the year and now await some funding decisions that we hope will mean we can continue to offer low cost, or free, live music sessions to community groups.

Our annual report for 2024/5 will be released soon, which shows an increase of over 100% in the number of sessions we've run with our partner organisations. That's over double the number of well-being events provided across Powys, Shropshire and North Wales.

We're really proud of the work of our musicians and excited to continue working with our fantastic community partners into 2025/6.

With a rating of 5 out of 5 stars for our musicians, who wouldn't want Music Anywhere in their lives?!

Pobl sessions in Llandrindod

Pobl in Llandrindod sessions!

We've got our final session with Pobl Housing in Llandrindod on Wednesday, 2 April at 12.00. Join us in the kitchen for a bit of singing, dancing and fun!

It's been great to work with Pobl in March and meet some of their welcoming staff and visitors in a relaxed environment where everyone gets a chance to be creative!

Thank you to everyone who's taken part and thanks to Pobl for inviting us along!

What we do

Live music for communities

Do you run or attend a local community group? Do you want to offer activities that anyone can take part in and enjoy? Get in touch to tell us what you need. Live music is a great way for people to come together, find something in common and feel better after taking part.
We want to offer Music Anywhere to enhance people's lives, because we believe that music makes us better, in all ways.
Song writing workshops

What we do

Song writing workshops

Song writing gets us listening to music in a different way. Our workshops include how we write, why we write and using song writing for well being and expression. Our sessions incorporate mindfulness and listening exercises and are accessible for everyone!

Workshops can be a one off, or in depth over several weeks.

Singing for well being

What we do

Singing for well being

'I can't sing'! Yes you can! Singing makes us feel great, exercises our lungs and releases happy hormones. Plus, you get to meet people and have great time whilst hitting the high notes!

If you are part of a group, or you would like to get a well being group together, get in touch.

Music, health and well-being - groups

What we do

Group Sessions

If you're part of an established community group and want to encourage more involvement from new or existing members, please contact us.

Organisations we work with include Dementia Matters in Powys, Versus Arthritis Cymru, Hope House Children's Hospice and more. We can support people with a variety of conditions, making music accessible.

Thank you

Our funders & supporters

Without our funders we could not offer live music to the many people that benefit from it.

'Music can lift us out of depression or move us to tears – it is a remedy, a tonic, orange juice for the ear. But for many of my neurological patients, music is even more – it can provide access, even when no medication can, to movement, to speech, to life. For them, music is not a luxury, but a necessity.'
Oliver Sacks, best-selling author and professor of neurology at NYU School Of Medicine

Organisations we partner with

To work effectively and safely, we collaborate and partner with other organisations, to make the most of our knowledge and resources.
We regularly support some organisations with live music and share our learning.

Additionally, we've been granted memberships through bursaries and concessions, for which we are very grateful.
